How do I get started?

After filling our an enquiry form and talking with our sales team, the next step is to book a Discovery/Scoping Call with our team. This session helps us understand your product idea, goals, and requirements. We use this call to develop a tailored scope for your new product development (NPD) project and guide you through the next steps. We do ask for a 10% deposit of the NPD cost as a show of faith and to ensure our team has been paid for the time they spend doing research on your product idea.

What services do you offer, and in what sequence?

We offer several services, and for end-to-end success our typical service flow is as follows:

1. Initial Discovery/Scoping Call – This defines the scope of the product and next steps and is required to begin any project.

2. New Product Development (NPD) – Our food scientists work on your product formulation and sample development.

3. Labelling & Regulatory Compliance – This is conducted as part of the NPD process and includes making sure your product has labels compliant with Australian regulations.

4. Packaging Design – Working with one of our designers, we assist with packaging mock-ups and final die lines to ensure your product design matches with manufacturer capabilities and the product itself. This is separate to the NPD process.

5. Website Design – For those who are just developing their brand, we have an optional service to help get you launching online.

6. Manufacturing – Following the NPD, packaging, and regulatory compliance processes, we manage getting your products manufactured for release.

7. Coaching & Advisory – This service is available at multiple levels for clients who want ongoing support post-launch for growth and operations.

8. Marketing Services – Once manufacturing is underway, this service is essential in launching your product.

How do I communicate for updates on my project?

We know that clients want to hear consistent updates throughout their product development, sampling, design and manufacturing stages. To account for this, we provide fortnightly progress updates via email and our team will notify you if there are any major developments throughout. You are also welcome to email us with any questions, or to book a video call with your project lead. Please note that while we aim to respond to clients within 3 business days, we may experience delays in responding to your emails from time to time, but we endeavour to respond as soon as possible. Please be patient with our team and allow this time for our team to coordinate internally across formulation, procurement and operations where required.

Do you offer flexible batch sizes for startups or pilot runs?

We specialise in working with early-stage brands and understand the need for pilot runs and small initial batch sizes. The batch sizes depend on your product type and packaging and you can view some minimums on our website. If you have any questions, please reach out to our sales team for tailored advice.

Do you offer custom formulation?

Our team specialise in custom formulation, so that all of our products are tailored to your vision and goals, ensuring your product is unique. We do not offer white-label products.

Can I request natural flavors, botanicals, or specific ingredients?

We work with a wide range of local and international suppliers to source natural flavors, botanicals, and functional ingredients. If you’re after something specific, we’ll help you source it or recommend close alternatives.

What are your standard lead times for production and delivery?

● Product Development: 4–8 months depending on the product type, complexity, and sampling rounds.

● Manufacturing: 4–12 weeks depending on the product, packaging, and batch size.

Please note delays may occur due to suppliers, packaging lead times, or freight.

Are there expedited production options for urgent orders?

Where possible, we offer a priority production service for urgent projects. A flat priority fee of $500 applies, and availability depends on capacity and timelines.

What packaging options are available?

We can package and source most packaging for all products including jars, pouches, bottles, or blister packs. Custom packaging options can also be explored based on your brand requirements. For more information around packaging, please reach out to our sales team for tailored advice.

Do you provide private labelling or label design support?

We offer flat-rate packaging and label design services at $2,000 per product. This includes concept design, iterations, and printer-ready artwork.

Can you source packaging for me?

We work with several packaging suppliers and can coordinate sourcing for jars, tubs, sachets, stand-up pouches, bottles, and more.

Can you help me with branding and marketing?

Yes. While we recommend starting branding during product development and marketing after manufacturing begins, we offer full support across brand strategy, visual identity, and go-to-market plans. Book a call with our team to learn more.

Are your products manufactured in compliance with Australian regulations (e.g., TGA, FSANZ, GMP)?

Yes. Depending on your product type and regulatory needs, we work with certified manufacturers to ensure full compliance with FSANZ, TGA, HACCP, or GMP standards.

Can you assist with regulatory approvals or product registration in Australia?

Yes. We assist with FSANZ and TGA compliance, product registration, and relevant claims for your category. Our regulatory team can advise based on your specific needs.

Where is your YGF Manufacturing based?

We’re proudly based in Sydney, Australia. While our head office and team are local, we work with manufacturing partners across Australia, Asia, and Europe to give our clients the best pricing and capability options

How many food projects have you completed successfully?

Our team has completed over 100 successful product launches across supplements, snacks, spreads, drinks, and functional foods. We take on 10–20 new projects each month.

How big is your team, and what experience do you have?

We’re a lean but high-performing team of 12. Some of our team members have over 15 years of experience, while others are rising stars with strong academic and industry training. Our food scientists have worked across a wide range of categories and are continually up-skilled to stay at the forefront of trends and compliance.

Do you manufacture locally in Australia, or are your facilities overseas?

We coordinate manufacturing through our network of trusted partners both in Australia and internationally (Asia and Europe). All facilities are vetted for quality, compliance, and capacity to meet your product’s needs.

How does billing work?

We charge upfront for most services to cover ingredient sourcing, labour, and setup costs.

For product development, we offer milestone billing:

● 10% upfront

● 90% to cover our teams commercial review, ingredient sourcing, labour, and setup, sampling and dispatching of three sample rounds, compliance and nutritional panelling completion and final handover as part of our end-to-end process.

For manufacturing:

● 50% upfront

● 50% before dispatch (plus freight and final packaging costs, if applicable)

Can I get receipts or invoices for business admin and accounting purposes later, once my business is formally registered?

Yes. Just let us know what documentation you need, and our accounts team will provide invoices and receipts tailored to your business details.

How much does it cost to manufacture my product?

Costs depend on your product type, ingredients, packaging, and volume. Once we understand your concept, we provide a detailed quote covering development, sampling, and manufacturing—transparent and tailored to your budget.

Do you help with formulation and flavour development?

Absolutely. Our food science team works with you to develop functional, great-tasting formulas. Whether you need a pre-workout, electrolyte drink, protein blend, or bar—we can refine the taste, texture, and performance.

Can you help with compliance, regulations, and packaging?

Yes. We support FSANZ compliance, ingredient documentation, nutritional panels, and basic label audits. We also offer packaging support—from sourcing to printing and filling.

How long does it take to develop and launch a product?

This is a 3-step process. Step 1, product development, typically takes 3–6 months depending on the product type and how quickly we move through sampling and approvals—on average, powder-based products take around 3–4 months, while gummies, bars, or drinks may take 4–5 months. Step 2, packaging, usually takes about 1 month and can be completed alongside product development to save time. Step 3, manufacturing, can take anywhere from 1–6 months depending on the product type, volumes, and supplier lead times. Faster turnarounds are possible if you’re ready to approve quickly.
