After filling our an enquiry form and talking with our sales team, the next step is to book a Discovery/Scoping Call with our team. This session helps us understand your product idea, goals, and requirements. We use this call to develop a tailored scope for your new product development (NPD) project and guide you through the next steps. We do ask for a 10% deposit of the NPD cost as a show of faith and to ensure our team has been paid for the time they spend doing research on your product idea.
We offer several services, and for end-to-end success our typical service flow is as follows:
1. Initial Discovery/Scoping Call – This defines the scope of the product and next steps and is required to begin any project.
2. New Product Development (NPD) – Our food scientists work on your product formulation and sample development.
3. Labelling & Regulatory Compliance – This is conducted as part of the NPD process and includes making sure your product has labels compliant with Australian regulations.
4. Packaging Design – Working with one of our designers, we assist with packaging mock-ups and final die lines to ensure your product design matches with manufacturer capabilities and the product itself. This is separate to the NPD process.
5. Website Design – For those who are just developing their brand, we have an optional service to help get you launching online.
6. Manufacturing – Following the NPD, packaging, and regulatory compliance processes, we manage getting your products manufactured for release.
7. Coaching & Advisory – This service is available at multiple levels for clients who want ongoing support post-launch for growth and operations.
8. Marketing Services – Once manufacturing is underway, this service is essential in launching your product.
We know that clients want to hear consistent updates throughout their product development, sampling, design and manufacturing stages. To account for this, we provide fortnightly progress updates via email and our team will notify you if there are any major developments throughout. You are also welcome to email us with any questions, or to book a video call with your project lead. Please note that while we aim to respond to clients within 3 business days, we may experience delays in responding to your emails from time to time, but we endeavour to respond as soon as possible. Please be patient with our team and allow this time for our team to coordinate internally across formulation, procurement and operations where required.
We specialise in working with early-stage brands and understand the need for pilot runs and small initial batch sizes. The batch sizes depend on your product type and packaging and you can view some minimums on our website. If you have any questions, please reach out to our sales team for tailored advice.
Our fees depend on the scope of engagement — the product category, number of formulations, markets you're targeting, and services required. As a guide, product development engagements typically start from a few thousand dollars for straightforward single-SKU projects and scale based on complexity. Manufacturing costs are separate and depend on your product type, ingredients, packaging format, and production volume. We provide a detailed, transparent quote after your initial discovery call — there are no hidden fees and no lock-in contracts.
How does the recipe and formulation process work?
We begin with a product discovery session to understand your goals — target consumer, nutritional profile, flavour direction, format (powder, bar, drink, gummy, etc.), and any regulatory requirements for your target market. Our food scientists then develop an initial formulation and produce samples for your review. We iterate based on your feedback until taste, texture, and compliance are locked in. Once the formulation is approved, we move to manufacturer selection and scale-up trials. For most product categories, this process takes 3–5 months.
● Product Development: 4–6 months depending on the product type, complexity, and sampling rounds.
● Manufacturing: 4–12 weeks depending on the product, packaging, and batch size.
Please note delays may occur due to suppliers, packaging lead times, or freight.
Yes. Our manufacturing network includes partners who cater to small-batch and startup volumes across most product categories. MOQs vary by manufacturer and product type — powder blends can often start from as low as 50–100kg, while bars, gummies, and drinks typically require higher minimum runs. We'll always match you with a manufacturer whose MOQ is appropriate for your stage, and negotiate on your behalf.
Yes. Every manufacturer in our network is vetted and holds the relevant certifications for their product category and target market. This includes BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and organic, halal, or kosher certifications where applicable. For Australian and New Zealand products, we ensure FSANZ alignment. For US products, we work with FDA-registered, cGMP-compliant facilities. Certification documentation is available under NDA at the manufacturing stage.
We provide compliance support as part of our end-to-end service. For Australian and New Zealand products, this includes FSANZ-aligned formulation guidance, label compliance review, and nutritional panel development. For US products, we support FDA/FSMA requirements, structure/function claim compliance, and cGMP-aligned documentation. We do not replace a regulatory lawyer for complex claims or novel ingredients, but we manage the practical compliance process for the vast majority of standard food, beverage, and supplement products.
How long does it take to get from idea to product to shelf?
The full process — formulation, sampling, manufacturer selection, production trials, packaging, and first production run — typically takes 4–8 months depending on product complexity. Powder-based products are generally faster (3–4 months). Gummies, bars, drinks, and skincare products tend to take 5–7 months due to more complex manufacturing requirements. Packaging development runs in parallel and adds approximately 4–6 weeks. Faster timelines are possible if you're able to approve samples and decisions quickly — our record is 29 days from idea to shelf.

How long does it take to develop and launch a product?
This is a 3-step process. Step 1, product development, typically takes 3–6 months depending on the product type and how quickly we move through sampling and approvals—on average, powder-based products take around 3–4 months, while gummies, bars, or drinks may take 4–5 months. Step 2, packaging, usually takes about 1 month and can be completed alongside product development to save time. Step 3, manufacturing, can take anywhere from 1–6 months depending on the product type, volumes, and supplier lead times. Faster turnarounds are possible if you’re ready to approve quickly.
